There is no hope in the Christian life unless we are aware of that. There is nothing that is more important to any one of us than this. Do we have a hunger and a thirst after righteousness? Do we, “as the hart panteth after the water brooks” (Ps. 42:1), long for the living God and a knowledge of him?
